Riot Game’s ambitions to extend VALORANT to additional platforms are apparently confirmed. A DOT Esports report states that the developers have secured a further new mobile game title. Valorant Mobile is said to be developing and these suspicions seem to have been targeted at Riot Games. The transition to mobile began with the testing checklist, according to Donlon, who is Valorant Executive Producer, of queries concerning Valorant’s core and if it could be carried out on the phone or not. If one of the tasks could not be done on the checklist, then Riot would not be continuing with the project. According to Donlon, the most crucial aspect for the team was to ensure that a comprised version of Valorant was not provided to mobile gamers. The objective is to make the game a unique experience, not only for a Valorant PC version on phones also.
“We didn’t start out with ‘We’re making Valorant on mobile,’ we started out with ‘Can we make Valorant on mobile?’ with a lot of skepticism,” Donlon said. “For us, whatever you get out of playing on PC, you should get out of playing Valorant on mobile. But we have to recognize that the mobile player need is different.” Streamers had limited access to the testing period, leading to a massive increase in viewing in the early stage. Within a year, Riot Games hosted their first ever international Valorant LAN event in Iceland, and the competition scene began to flourish. Riot Games looks to take advantage of the growth of the mobile game industry and wants to promote its potential. The developers acknowledged their ambitions to extend Valorant to the mobile game industry, according to the reports. Yet there is no specific news about the Launch Date and BETA Testing and will have to wait near future.
